This product feature was designed to bring a more "personal" experience for users by integrating a news feed. The news feed will display new houses into their search area, status change for saved listings, and so forth. This design idea was concepted in the company's 2015 hackathon, where I teamed up with a UX Designer (Jingyu Wu), two researchers and the Optimizely team for two days. This design won 1st place for the category, "Beautiful Design". This product is currently being implemented, and should go live shortly.
Design mocks that demonstrate how the user can access Scribe, and how the activity feed looks when the user is logged in/out.
Refined Product Design
The goal is to allow users accessing the updates in their search areas with one click.
An interactive prototype was built using Invision to run usability testing. The design was well received by users. Below is a quote from a user study.
"I would probably want an app for my iPhone... all the orange box notifications... ability to select news listings, price reduction and status change. That's what I'd love to see..."
